Rohit sharma scored three double hundred in international odi cricket.

runs 264 against Sri Lanka at EDEN GARDEN, Kolkata on 13 Nov 2014.

He is the only player to have scored three double-centuries
in this format of international cricket.

It remains to be the highest score by a batsman in International cricket.

However, it isn't the highest individual score in the 50 over format


India Opener and Mumbai Indians batsman Rohit Sharma known for six hitting abilities and making a daddy hundred after he crosses a 100 run mark. But do you know the 264 runs he scored in Odi format against Sri lanka is not the highest score in the international cricket.

The vice captain of Indian cricket team is only cricket player in the international cricket who have three double hundred in odi format against different teams. Which include two double century against SRI LANKA by opening the innings and one century against the Australia by chasing.

BROWN HAD A RECORD OF HIGHEST RUNS:-

However, Rohit Sharma 264 is not the highest score in ODI format, Yes you read that right. The record of highest runs is with Alistair brown- who scored 268 runs in an English Trophy match against glamorgan at the oval in 2002. in that match both teams score 867 runs, while Surry scored a total of 438 for the loss of 5 wicket,Glamorgan came with winning momentum of winning the match but at the end they loss the match by 10 runs. The highest score in match surpassed the previous best score 754 runs by loss of 16 wicket. That is scored by India A and India B at Madras in 2000-01.

After being dropped at slips early in his innings, Brown converts his dropped chance and scored 268 runs all around the sides. He also scored heavily through the 60-yard boundary on one of the sides. His innings was studded with 12 sixes and 30 fours while he faced 160 deliveries in his innings.
Brown also broke the record for the best knock by a batsman in the 50-over format which was previously held by Graeme Pollock – who had scored unbeaten 222 runs for Eastern Province against Border in East London, South Africa.
Prior to Alistair Brown’s knock, the previous best by an English batsman was 206 runs set by Warwickshire's Alvin Kallicharran against Oxfordshire in 1984.

NUMBER OF DOUBLE CENTUARY IN INTERNATIONAL CRICKET:-
Sachin Tendulkar:- He was the first Indian batsman to reach a double hundred in the 50-over format in 2010 followed by Virender Sehwag - who achieved the feat next year
Rohit joined the Elite list a bit late but went on to create history by smashing three double centuries.
Rohit's maiden ODI double ton came against Australia. The Mumbai batsman went on to score two more double tons against Sri Lanka.
Chris Gayle,Martin Guptill and Fakhar Zaman are the three other batsmen to have achieved the feat.
