Rescheduled England Tour of Sri Lanka Due to Coronavirus Pandemic.
The England Tour of Sri lanka which is set to begin in March 2020 has been rescheduled for January 2021- said by SLC CEO Ashley de Silva. Before the coronavirus outbreak, England was about to play two Tests matches in Sri Lanka, One is in Galle and another in Colombo. But, due to Nationwide Lockdown and spread of coronavirus across the world, SLC CEO has decided to rescheduled of England tour of Sri Lanka till January 2021 - the SLC confirmed on Friday ( MAY 2).
"We are in the process of rescheduling the tours that have been postponed," De Silva told Sri Lankan Newspaper Daily News. "England has been rescheduled for the month of January next year but the dates have not been finalized."At the same time, we are also looking at exploring the possibility of rescheduling postponed tours and looking at the windows which are available and alternatives too.

"South Africa is one of the tours which we are looking at rescheduling. We are engaged in discussions with the member countries and see how it can be planned out." South Africa's limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka -- three one-day internationals and three Twenty20 games -- was scheduled to take place in June before it was postponed.

"There are also two other tours which are scheduled to take place with India and Bangladesh due to tour Sri Lanka in June-July and July-August respectively," De Silva added. "We will explore the possibility of playing those two tours in another week or two."



Before the Coronavirus Pandemic, the England Cricket board (ECB) had said that the tour of Sri Lanka for Playing Two Test's matches is as per planned but the circumstances have "changed rapidly". Following discussions overnight between the ECB and Sri Lanka Cricket, a decision was made to postpone the tour and bring England's squad and support staff.
England Cricket Board (ECB) were trying to reschedule the series at some instance, as the matches to be played are part of the World Test Championship and every match is important keeping in mind the World test Championship.
